Page One or Bust

When I first started building niche sites back in August one of the first places I found a good description of link building was this post at Niche Pursuits.  I had previously read brief descriptions about article directories, social bookmarks, blog networks, etc.  But one thing that I hadn’t seen before was Matt LaClear’s link building services.

I followed the link to the Warrior Special Offer (WSO) and was pretty much blown away by how many people were using this service with so many great things to say.  I hadn’t built a single link at this point and figured I’d give his services a go.

What happened?

Well, I ended up putting 1 site on page 1 and another site on page 2.  Unfortunately link building wasn’t the only thing I didn’t understand.  These sites were built around terms that almost no one was searching for with super low ad competition for Adsense.  I was excited to be on page 1 and page 2 so quickly, but a little disheartened when I figured out about a month later that I wasn’t going to make more than about $1/month with these sites.

Fast Forward to November 3

With a few successful sites under my belt I figured I’d give Matt LaClear’s link building service another try with a new site I had built for the holidays.  I ended up purchasing his “Page One or Bust” article drip feed service.  It costs $125/year and drips 100 links a day, every day.

Here’s the exact description of the service:

Step One: You Give us Up to 5 Keywords And Your Site URL

Step Two: We Add You To Our Daily Article Link Drip Feed Service

Step Three: You Start Receiving A Consistent Stream of Over 100 Article Links A Day

After signing up it took 7 days to get a notification that my article drip service had begun.  So the first day will be November 10.

The Site

While I rarely give away the URL of a site I’m targeting I will give you guys a little bit of data to take a look at.

Google Adwords Keyword Tool stats

page one or bust gakt

Obviously this is a Christmas site, as you can see by the trending.  But imagine being number 1 in December for this term.  That’s probably a potential for around 15,000 unique visitors ready to buy!

Long Tail Pro stats

page one or bust ltp

As you can see this is probably a medium competition keyword.  The top 10 seem to rely upon domain age and domain authority as opposed to page links.

The Challege

Can this site make it all the way to Page 1 with nothing but Matt LaClear’s link building services over the period of 1 year?

There’s been a lot of drama, so to speak, on the Warrior Forums regarding his services, so it will be interesting to see if all those positive reviews were the real deal.

Rankings

Primary Keyword: +200

Next update, December 10, stay tuned.

I will be VERY curious to see how this serves you (although, if I’m reading the income reports correctly, it’s doing pretty well).

The Keyword Academy has always recommended starting out the sites with 2-4 backlinks a day, then 4-6…. and slowly increasing to try to avoid the “sandbox”.

If you figure out the secret to heavy backlinking and no sandbox for new sites, I will be very fascinated.

I actually just posted an update today. I’ve never built this many links early on, so I’m curious to see how it turns out as well.
