Hi Wes,

Private networks are the way to go, assuming that you can setup the infrastructure. Otherwise, it's not worth the cost/benefit for small sites.

I've read a lot about Matt LaClear's service but haven't used it. The thing that scared me away was that he wouldn't reveal exactly what was happening behind the scenes, unlike other services where you know exactly what services/tools they use.

My 30 day-old sites are almost settled on page 1 or 2, and I now have a couple at rank 1. But, I use a diverse set of services (public/private). I would hesitate to write off the "public" blog networks as they have a huge advantage in terms of IP diversity. The problem with private networks is that you are at the mercy of deindexation and outright growth if the network owners don't take care of the network. Look at BMR, they just shut their doors down for awhile.

So far (knock on wood) I have been successful at staying the course despite reading so many accounts of people getting knocked out left, right, and center. Patience is key, and I don't think anyone can bumrush page 1 in a week AND stay there like they used to prior to all the Panda updates.

Someone already mentioned it above, but again, I think diversity is key. Only time will tell since Google is so fickle these days.

Wesley, I really came over to comment on your comment on Pat's post. I'm looking forward to the potential podcast.

Also, these are one type of post I enjoy reading - taking an example from real life and applying to the MMO/motivation/general tip world.

KC,

I'm not sure quite yet if it is a good niche, but we'll see over the next few months.

I don't always target low competition niches, but I do target low competition keywords. For instance, ranking my home page for "kitchen gadgets" may be of medium competition/difficulty, but ranking for some of the specific inner pages should be quite easy. Then, as you build authority to the inner pages you'll be able to rank for more difficult terms like "kitchen gadgets" on your home page. Hope that makes sense.

Hi Wesley,

I read your post about the finding a niche research, And I am sure "kitchen gadget" is a good niche, I want to know how do you deal with the keyword? As some of IM masters suggest to target a low competitive market but seems to me you didnt mentioned it in your post? What is your opinion?

Thanks Adam, I am doing my best to stay focused, but I definitely have a lot to learn still.

I would agree that keyword research is an integral part of this business and understanding which keywords to really go after and how to tackle them.

I honestly believe if you have figured out a way to make $150, you can find a way to make $1,500 and eventually $15,000. It's just a matter of completely dominating for keywords you know convert and can rank for. Keep up the good work.

Hi Wesley
I must say that you are extremely focused and seem to know what you're doing to a high level. I started learning in 2010 and have only made $150 in amazon revenue. That is only from one site though which now gets 1600 uniques per month. I suppose the answer is to build more sites targeting 20 keywords per site and see how it goes. Proper keyword research and focus is the key. Great Blog and just signed up to your list.

Very nice dream home. It's the reasons I make extra money online.. be honest, I don't have much "dreams" - at least I wanna be a great father and husband - committing and serving my family for now.

Dreams for my current home? - at least I have extra cash to upgrade here and there and make it better place raising my family.

On-going, I am taking actions reaching my dreams. Thanks for your kindly reminder.

Hi Wesley

I am looking at getting the catalyst theme myself and upon doing some research on the theme I came across your post on the warrior forum and then checked out your site. I have to say I asm really impressed with the Kitchen Gadget site and how the theme actually compliments the work you are doing. This has made up my mind to invest in Catalyst. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing the outcome on the autority site case study.
