Hey guys, my name is Wesley Banks and I’m the guy behind Chasing Pace. I’m glad you guys are taking the time to check out my blog and hopefully you’ll find it useful.
I wanted to provide ya’ll with a little bit of my background so you have an idea of where I’m coming from when I speak on certain subjects of Internet Marketing and Life.
I know when I first started I always wanted to know exactly what people did when they entered the online world. So, if there is anything else you’d like to know feel free to contact me.
The Reason Behind Chasing Pace
While I created Chasing Pace as a site to show people how to make money online, I also created it because I felt there was a huge gap missing in Internet Marketing, a gap that was contributing to a lot of people (likely 95% or more) to fail.
What is that gap? Dreams and Drive.
If you’re not aware of your dreams or your reason for pursuing something you’re likely to fail every time. A few years ago one of my dreams (my dog Pace) was taken away from me in a freak accident. It took me nearly 2 years to realize that once you find something you love, once you find something that completes you, once you find something worth truly living for or working towards, if you don’t hold onto it, if you don’t pour all of your heart into it, you will lose it.
If you take absolutely nothing from this blog, then make sure you at least understand this very basic concept. Having dreams is not enough. Taking action is not enough. If you do not fully understand the concept of needing or wanting something so desperately that your life will not be complete without it, then you are going to fail. For some their impetus or inspiration will be taking care of their family, for others it may be a dream house, or just traveling with your loved one or friends, and for others it may just be greed or the idea of becoming wealthy. Regardless of what it is, you have to chase after it with everything you’ve got. And thus, Chasing Pace was born.
My Background in Internet Marketing
I’m still fairly new to the scene of Internet Marketing. In June of 2011 I didn’t even know what a blog was, let alone affiliate marketing. Though, in July of 2011 all of that changed after a not so pleasant discussion at work, which led me to realize (even though I enjoy my work) I rely too heavily on one aspect of my life for income.
I spent most of July and August reading about blogging, HTML, WordPress, affiliate marketing, and nearly anything I could get my hands on. I typically work from 7am to 6pm, but that didn’t stop me from rushing home from work each day to essentially do even more work from 6pm to 2am. It’s a miracle I didn’t end up in the hospital, because I don’t think I slept more than 30 hours a week for about 2 months. I highly recommend never doing this.
I created around 5 sites in August, of which maybe 2 are still active. Man they were horrible, so definitely don’t worry too much if your first few sites turn out bad. I’m not sure what happened, but sometime in September everything just started to click, and by the end of that month I had made my first $100. Unfortunately I had also spent around $1,000 on all sorts of worthless SEO tools and what have you.
Anyways, I kept creating sites, around 10 a month until November 2011, where I’m set (as of writing this) to make I made my first $1,000 online.
My Background in Life
I was born and raised in Florida, and while most people don’t consider Florida to be the “south”, I can tell you that I like to think I’m a “southern boy.” In 2007 I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Engineering degree, with a minor in Real Estate.
I currently work for a Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 company, and since graduating I’ve built bridges in Florida (3), South Carolina (1), and Washington (1). I’m now back in Florida, thankfully, and should be here for at least 3 more years. Who knows where after that.
I recently got married to that gorgeous girl in the picture above, and currently our family consists of us and our 2 dogs (Story and Linkin).
